Philanthropy & Service
Philanthropy is a cornerstone of the Cornell fraternity experience, representing our commitment to giving back and supporting the Ithaca community. Each chapter maintains a Philanthropy Chair dedicated to organizing impactful events, fostering a culture of service that defines our collective identity and campus leadership.
United Way of Tompkins County
The official philanthropy of the Cornell Interfraternity Council is the United Way of Tompkins County. This incredible organization helps people meet their immediate, basic needs while empowering lasting change by strengthening the three building blocks for a good life: education, income, and health. The Interfraternity Council spearheads Cornell's involvement with this local philanthropic organization.
Blood Drives
Each semester, the Greek Tri-Council holds a blood drive through the American Red Cross. Both blood drives are publicized throughout the entire Cornell community; faculty, students, staff, and even members of the Ithaca community donate.
Collegetown Cleanup
The Interfraternity Council is dedicated to being a good neighbor in the Ithaca community. Through our Collegetown Cleanup program, hundreds of fraternity members volunteer their time each semester to maintain the beauty and cleanliness of the residential areas surrounding campus. These efforts reinforce our commitment to community responsibility and environmental stewardship, ensuring that the areas where we live and learn remain vibrant and welcoming for all residents.
